Downpatrick fire: wrong place, unproven blame REPRODUCE THIS INVESTIGATION Check the location, rebuild the chronology and assess the allegation separately. These eight steps let you follow the evidence behind the finding. You will need: A browser, somewhere to keep notes and Excel or another spreadsheet app ACCESS AND DATA LIMITS The timeline is our compiled chronology, not independent evidence. We could not reopen the original X post or BBC page during this website check; those details also rely on the preserved investigation. If you cannot access them, mark the relevant steps as not independently repeated. The archive photograph on this page does not show the fire. WORKING FILES Source notes: https://tallycat01.com/downloads/downpatrick-fire-wrong-place-source-notes.txt Timeline: https://tallycat01.com/downloads/downpatrick-fire-wrong-place-timeline.csv 1. Save the working files Download the source notes and timeline above. Open the CSV in Excel or another spreadsheet app. In separate notes, record each source, the date you opened it, what you observed and what remains unknown. Check the chronology against the linked sources rather than treating it as proof by itself. 2. Separate the post’s two allegations Open the original X post. Record the account, caption and displayed date. The preserved investigation recorded 30 September 2026 and a 17-second clip. Write two questions: does the video show St Patrick’s burial site, and what evidence identifies who started the fire? Keep in mind: A wrong location and an allegation about responsibility need different evidence. Open the original post: https://x.com/MAGANation_47/status/2105367994784203203 3. Compare the building in the footage Read the BBC report naming the former Convent of Mercy and inspect its aerial photograph. If the original clip is available, pause near its opening. Compare the red-brick building, the pointed spire beside it and the smoke’s position. Keep in mind: Matching visible features supports a location check. It is not a complete forensic authentication of the video. Read the fire report and compare the photograph: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c932vlqpe39o 4. Locate St Patrick’s traditional grave Open the Saint Patrick Centre’s grave page and find “Outside Down Cathedral”. Compare that location with the former Convent of Mercy in the fire report. Record them as two different sites. Keep in mind: “Traditional grave” describes the attributed burial place. This check does not establish archaeological proof of the burial. Find the traditional grave’s location: https://www.saintpatrickcentre.com/st-patricks-grave/ 5. Read what the official statements actually say In the fire service statement, find “initial call” and record 28 June as the fire date, separate from the statement’s date of 29 June. Retain the qualification that the fire was believed to have been deliberately started. Then read the police appeal of 29 June and note whether it identifies a perpetrator. Keep in mind: The June appeal is a statement at that time. It does not establish the investigation’s October status or migrant responsibility. Read the fire service statement: https://www.nifrs.org/nifrs-statement-building-fire-on-irish-street-downpatrick/ Read the police appeal: https://www.psni.police.uk/latest-news/appeal-information-following-downpatrick-fire 6. Trace the later police information In the Maldita report, find “5 de octubre”. Read its account of the police position on 5 October 2026: no identified suspect or established motive. If translating the Spanish, keep the original passage alongside your notes. Keep in mind: Attribute this information to Maldita. TALLYCAT01 did not obtain that police response directly. Read Maldita’s report: https://maldita.es/desinfo/20261005/inmigrantes-incendian-la-iglesia-en-la-que-esta-enterrado-san-patricio-en-irlanda/ 7. Recalculate the 94-day gap In the timeline CSV, select the header row and choose Data > Filter. In the Event column, keep only “The fire” and “The X post”. Check the two dates against the sources: 28 June and 30 September 2026. Enter the formula below into a blank cell. It should return 94; set the cell format to Number if a date appears. =DATE(2026,9,30)-DATE(2026,6,28) Keep in mind: If your spreadsheet uses different formula names or separators, you can also add 2 remaining days in June, 31 in July, 31 in August and 30 in September: 94 days. This is a calendar-date difference, not an exact number of hours. It does not establish an intention to mislead. 8. Keep the conclusions separate Compare your notes with three distinct findings: the footage shows the wrong place for the burial-site claim; migrant responsibility remains unproven; the poster’s intention has not been established. Record any inaccessible sources or evidence that would change those conclusions. Evidence checked: 7 October 2026 Research and production assisted by AI
